Child & Adolescent Counselling
Support that meets your child right where they’re at.
Every child and teen is unique—and so is the way they experience challenges like anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, or social struggles. At GenLift Counselling, we create a supportive space where young people can open up, explore what they’re feeling, and build the emotional skills they need to thrive.
Whether it’s big feelings that seem to come out of nowhere, school-related stress, or changes at home, we’re here to help them (and you) navigate it all.
At GenLift Counselling, we specialize in child and adolescent therapy in Alberta, working with young people typically between the ages of 3 and 18.
Our services are a great fit for:
Children (3–9 years old) who may be experiencing anxiety, big emotions, friendship struggles, or school-related challenges
Pre-teens and tweens (10–13 years old) navigating emotional ups and downs, family transitions, or social pressures
Teenagers (13–18 years old) dealing with academic stress, self-esteem issues, ADHD, or planning for life after high school
Whether your child is just starting school or getting ready to leave it behind, we offer age-appropriate support through every stage of development.
Working Together to Support Your Child
Together, we can work to support your child in the following areas:
Anxiety and stress management
ADHD strategies (focus, organization, and impulse control)
Emotional regulation and resilience
Social skills and peer relationships
Self-esteem and confidence
Behavioural challenges and family dynamics
School challenges, learning differences, and advocacy
Sessions are always tailored to your child’s needs, age, and comfort level—and as a parent, you’ll be supported too, every step of the way.
Our Approach
Through a blend of evidence-based approaches—like CBT, ACT, DBT, ABFT and Play Therapy—we offer thoughtful, individualized support in a way that feels accessible, not clinical.
Our ability to bridge the gap between home, therapy and classroom is attributed to our founder, Amie’s, years of experience working within school systems allowing a better understanding of what is going on behind the scenes.
How Do I Know if Child or Teen Counselling Right for My Family?
It’s not always easy to know when to reach out for support. Many parents come to GenLift when their child:
Seems overwhelmed by school or social situations
Has trouble managing emotions or outbursts
Struggles with focus, motivation, or organization
Withdraws from family or friends
Has recently experienced a big change, like a move, divorce, or transition to a new school
You don’t need a diagnosis or crisis to benefit from therapy. Sometimes it’s just about having someone outside the family who truly understands kids and teens—and can help them move forward with confidence.
